Methodology

Heating elements control and compliance report

Electrical controls:

Each heating element is checked.
Unless otherwise stated, the general standard applied is: EN 60335-1
For tubular elements and immersion tanks, we also apply standard NFC 79620
Upon request we also apply the UL (UL 499) for cartridges and band heaters.

General tolerances are:

  • Ohmic value +10% / -5%
  • or Power +5% / -10%
  • Dielectric strength 1250V or 2U +1000 V
  • Isolation greater than 100 mega-ohms (NFC 79620) except for the heating cartridges.
  • Leakage current
    • 0.5mA for goods in Class 0
    • 0.5 mA in Class 01
    • 0.75mA in Class 1
    • 0.25 mA in Class 2

Class 0: electrical protection is based on only basic insulation, that is to say that no earth device exists on the element itself. This is the case of cartridges heaters and standard tubular heaters.

Class 01: Electrical protection is based, in addition to basic insulation on one earth terminal, but the power cord has no earth wire. This is the case of some band heaters, strip heaters, immersion heaters, etc..

Class 1: in addition to basic insulation, protection includes an earth wire. This is the case of certain cartridge heaters, band heaters, etc.. with earth wire.

Class 2: In addition to the main insulation, the element has either a double insulation or reinforced insulation but without earth. This is the case of some models of towel heaters or very specific heaters for industrial or medical applications.

Dimensional checks:

All heating elements are checked for size during the manufacturing process or before shipment. Tolerances vary depending on the type of production and under the specific clients guidance.
Refer to the data of each product.

Specific documents:

Upon request and when applicable, we can produce:
A certificate of conformity issued in accordance with NF L00-15C
A control report of each element after manufacture (electrical, dimensions)
The CCPU materials
A pressure test report, weld inspection.
A chemical surface treatment report.

Traceability:

Records are made all along the production process.
For cartridge heaters and coil heaters, each batch produced has an identification number for traceability.

Checks when hot:

Upon request, we also carry out checks, when hot, defined by the specifications and measured using a thermal camera.

Each heating element is checked.
Unless otherwise stated, the general standard applied is: EN 60335-1
For tubular elements and immersion tanks, we also apply standard NFC 79620
Upon request we also apply the UL (UL 499) for cartridges and band heaters.
