Glossary

Cartridge heaters : Cartridge heaters are cylindrical electrical heating elements. Protected with a stainless steel sheath, their watt density can reach 50 W/cm2 and their operating temperature can go up to 800°C (1472°F).

Coiled heaters : Coiled heaters are small section linear heating elements that can be shaped when cold and that allow high wattage in a limited space. They can be custom shaped by us or they can be delivered in their straight form to you so that you can shape them yourself. A large number or standard models of various sections are carried in stock to be delivered very quickly.

Band heaters : Band heaters are designed to heat up cylindrical parts by conduction. The are used in many manufacturing processes such as the injection, extrusion and moulding processes … or other specific applications such as tank heating and they are to be found in many industries such as the plastic processing industry, the car industry, chemical and food processing industries, etc…

Strip Heaters : A nickel chromium 80/20 heating element is insulated into a mica or ceramic assembly. Used for heating up plates, tanks or draw holes of extruders, they can be flat, 90° or U bent. Fitted with mounting holes or slots, they can be adapted to all complex shapes. They can be fitted with aluminized steel, brass or stainless steel sheathes to be protected against mechanical hazards and to ensure a good heat distribution.

Tubular elements : Tubular elements are used in many applications for heating up liquids, gases and solids. They can be used for conduction, convection and radiation heating.

Immersion heaters : Immersion heaters are made of one or several tubular heating elements fitted on a mounting flange or screw plug. They can be adapted and designed for a wide variety of applications. Materials used to manufacture them can be very different depending on operating temperatures and liquids to be heated up.

Printed heaters : A printed heater consists of a very thin heating element on a ceramic, steel or stainless steel plate. Surface power of printed heaters can reach 30W/cm2 (200W/sq inch) with operating temperatures of up to 450°C (842°F).

Temperature sensor : There are many types of temperature sensors that will use various technologies and have different shapes. These sensors are used in many fields in the industry and in household equipment.

Temperature control : Most heating installations include temperature control equipment. It is an essential part of the installation and it must be in adequacy with aimed results. There is an adequate temperature control system for every type of installation. Whether it is a programmable electronic, on/off or bimetallic controller, it should be selected according to precision required, inertia and reliability over time.

High temperature fitting paste : This high temperature fitting paste contains micronized metals (copper and aluminium), solid lubricants and mineral oil.

High temperature sheath : Fibre glass braided sheath coated with silicone rubber tested at 1.5kV to 2kV.

High temperature cable : Insulated with siliconized fibre glass.

Resistance wire : Nickel Chromium alloy for use upto 1150°C (2102°F).

Tubular elements with fins : There are many applications that require heating up air or gases and many ways of achieving it. Choosing the appropriate heating element will depend on type of convection used (forced convection or natural convection), air speed, surrounding pressure, operating temperature, power required and available room.

Bare tubular elements : There are many applications that require heating up air or gases and many ways of achieving it. Choosing the appropriate heating element will depend on type of convection used (forced convection or natural convection), air speed, surrounding pressure, operating temperature, power required and available room.
